Ad hoc connection to a Hyper-V instance causes the main window to minimize and focus be lost from the Hyper-V host.

If connecting to a Hyper-V instance can their be an option to retain the main window in its current state the and Hyper-V list remain shown?

Also, clicking Add Hyper-V instance when a Hyper-V host is selected causes an error:  Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

The Ad Hoc connection takes it's settings from the Default Settings (in the Application document). If you have configured to open in an external window and checked the ckechbox Minimize main window, it will do that. To avoid this, uncheck the checkbox.

I think I might have fixed the error as well.

Stefan

Ok, that makes sense.

However is it possible for the dashboard to remain on the Hyper-V host and showing the list of Hyper-V machines rather than going to the tab for the machine connected to?  It is tedious to have to go back to the HYper-V host and wait for the list of Hyper-V machines to reload.

Can you give me more insight about your issue with the dashboard? I mean, when you want to connect to a machine and select Connect from the dashboard, why would you not want to see the console? I think if I change that behavior, a lot of people may complain to have to manually switch to the tab with the console, right?

Thank you,
Stefan
