I know, I can navigate to the top and click to Search panel to Active button to see active servers, but I have hundred of servers and I need to switch each other very very very quickly without rolling up or another next actions. I'd like to permanent see all active servers tabs on the top, is it possible? I know that this functionality use concurrent product VisionApp, but I'd like to use RoyalTS.

Thanks

Hi,
thanks for your feedback. Version 2 will have a "tab bar" where you can easily switch between your active connections without using the tree. I guess this will improve your workflow a lot. We are also thinking of some other improvements in the tree for a post V2 release, like favorites or active connections section similar to Outlook.

And thanks for sticking with us. We are aware that other products handle some things differently and we are working hard to get the ultimate experience to you in Royal TS.

cheers

Hi Stefan,

I would also like to request these features...

I would like to see a "magic" folder named "Active" or "Active Sessions" at the top of the Navigation Window.
This would be dynamically populated with links to all of my active sessions. But your tab solution would work just as well.

I would also like to request an auto-save option for the active .RTS XML file.
Actually "saves" take a very long time, if you have 500+ servers... if  RoyalRTS saved a hidden XML file
in the background periodically, the Save command could quickly/simply point to the new, existing XML
instead of writing out a whole new file. Adding/removing/modifing machines to RTS could trigger the background
(low priority) save operation. My RTS system is set to auto-patch with MSupdate, so I sometimes "lose" machines in RTS.

I would also like to request that the "duplicate" feature also allow "import machine names from .TXT file"
so I could add a number of machines very quickly, with a simple list of server names.

Thanks for a great tool,

Thom

Hi Thom!

Thanks a lot for the feedback. It's very much appreciated!

"Magic" Folder: We have something like that on our roadmap for a version after the initial V2 release.

Auto-Save: We still have no measurements for larger files using our new file format. Since encryption/decryption is handled completely differently, we suspect to have load/save operations much faster than in 1.x

Duplicate/Import: We will have some new features in V2 like: Bulk-Add (http://www.code4ward.net/main/Blog/tabid/70/BlogDate/2010-03-31/DateType/month/Default.aspx) or CSV Import.

cheers

Hi,

yes, tabs are still on the roadmap (in fact they already work in our internal build). We hope to get out a public beta very soon (1-2 months).
