Hi,

We've been using RoyalTS for a while and I love it. My only issue is this (I did a few searches but didn't find any relevant answers - please direct me to them if they exist):

We run with regular desktop accounts for normal stuff. We use admin accounts for anything server-related. All my entries in RoyalTS use my admin account (but I actually open RoyalTS on my desktop using my non-admin account).

The problem is when I use the right click tasks or something like Get Session Info. Those seem to run in the context of the regular user that I use to run RoyalTS, which has no rights. I would rather that those tasks ran in the context of the user I have configured in the connection properties.

Custom tasks, like the one listed here http://www.code4ward.net/main/Support/Forum/tabid/61/forumid/4/threadid/220/scope/posts/Default.aspx, do not work because they are attempting to run in the context of my regular account, not my admin account. I have tried workarounds using the RunAs command in the task properties, but I have had no luck. For Get Session Info, I can see the info of connected users but not disconnect or reset any of the sessions because my regular account does not have the proper rights.

Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks!

Hi,

thanks for the kind words!
You say you have an admin account for anything server-related. Obviously you use Royal TS heavily for server related stuff. Is there any reason why you don't start Royal TS using your admin account? This would be the easiest and according to your policy to use admin accounts for admin related stuff the perfect solution, wouldn't it be?

cheers,
Stefan

Hello,

I think my last post in this thread may help you on starting RoyalTS as another user.
