Hi all!

As you may already know from one of my blog posts, I am soon releasing the very first beta version of Royal TS. If you want to test drive and provide feedback on such releases you can join the "Royal TS Beta Groups" by clicking this link: http://www.code4ward.net/main/Default.aspx?rsvp=RTSBETA (note: you must be logged in when you click the link).

When you join this group you will get:

  • access to the beta downloads (as soon as they are available)

  • access to the beta forum to share your findings and provide feedback

  • a newsletter (on a irregular basis) about Royal TS Beta related stuff

The beta versions will not be tested as good as the final versions, therefore you should be aware of some things before you work with a beta:

  • Never use a beta in production environments. I suggest to use it in a virtual machine to get some level of isolation in case something horrible is happening.

  • Never use a beta with your original .rts file. Always work with backup copies. You may not be able to use this file with the final version or with the previous version!

  • Backup the personal settings xml files in your userprofile:
    code4ward.RoyalTS.ApplicationSettingsData.xml
    code4ward.RoyalTS.RTSConnection.xml
    code4ward.RoyalTS.TaskSettingsData.xml

If they get corrupted or something is changed in the final version, you may loose some or all of your preferences or task definitions.

  •

Nothing in the beta should be taken for granted. Meaning, if something doesn't work it may be dropped in the final release.

See you on the other side...
